Spiral galaxy  in the sign of the zodiac of the Big bear with the ostensible brightness of 7.5. Their distance amounts to 27 million light years, her diameter 170,000 Lj. Messier 101 was discovered on the 27th of March, 1781 by the French astronomer Pierre Mechain.
